On behalf of the Health Department, Dr. Vandana Bagga has been suspended from the post of Director General Health Services and Director. Just two days ago, Dr. Bagga had issued advice and instructions for the hospitals and general public of Delhi in view of the increasing respiratory disease in China.

Dr. Vandana Bagga has protested against this suspension by writing a letter to the Chief Election Commission, Delhi Election Commission, Lieutenant Governor, Chief Minister of Delhi, Chief Secretary of Delhi, Health Secretary and others. Also there has been talk of taking legal action against this decision. In his letter he alleged that the Election Commission has issued a model code of conduct for Delhi. Meanwhile, he was suspended for violating this to benefit some political parties. He alleges that the said order of suspension was received through WhatsApp messages.
Citing the announcement of elections, he has called it a prima facie violation of the Model Code of Conduct. The advice of the Council of Ministers of Delhi Government was not taken before the suspension. Nor is any disciplinary action pending against him. No show cause notice, reason or justification has been provided for issuing the impugned order for suspension with immediate effect. He demanded that this order be cancelled. Otherwise, you can resort to legal remedies.
